Mid-August Update

OUTDOOR WORSHIP IS RESUMING

Last night our COVID-19 Task Force made the decision to resume Outdoor Worship Services for the time being.  So beginning this Sunday, August 16th, our worship schedule will be:

     9:00        In-person Outdoor Worship

     10:30     Facebook Live Worship

As before, the Outdoor Worship Service will take place behind the building in the field.  You will need to bring your own seating (lawn chairs, blankets, etc.) and most people sit in the shade under the trees.  If you want to stay in/near your car, you are welcome to park in the field.  If the weather is questionable or rainy, we will cancel the Outdoor Service and it will become a Facebook Live service.  That decision will be made by 8:00am and advertised via congregational email & Facebook.

If you decide to attend the Outdoor Worship Service, in order to keep everyone safe, please keep these things in mind:

  • If you are not feeling well or suspect that you have been exposed to the virus, please stay home.
  • There will be a new seating procedure to ensure safe distancing. There will be markings on the ground that will identify where you can sit, so please adhere to those.  We will be practicing strict social distancing.
  • Once you find your spot, stay where you are and do not move around. This is important for children too.
  • The playground is closed.
  • Per county & state mandate, masks are required for public gatherings.  They will be available if you need one.
  • The building will be closed except for the bathrooms.
  • Communion will be offered using pre-packaged elements.  If you do not want to receive Communion, that is ok.

For each church activity going forward, the COVID-19 Task Force will be offering a Risk Assessment Level so that you can decide whether you feel comfortable participating.

The Risk Level for Outdoor Worship is: MODERATE.

BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS

Because we are resuming outdoor services, we will now have 2 opportunities to have your backpacks blessed this coming Sunday, August 16th.

  1. We will be Blessing the Backpacks immediately after the outdoor service this Sunday, so you can just bring your backpack with you to worship.
  2. We will continue with our originally scheduled time for this Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00pm.  We will be doing this Blessing of the Backpacks at the Outdoor Sanctuary, and you can just stop by anytime during that window to have your backpack blessed, for conversation, and maybe even a little treat.

This event/blessing is for all students, teachers & anyone who works in education.

The Risk Level is: LOW.

“DEAR CHURCH” BOOK STUDY

Here is the official Zoom invitation for this Wednesday’s book study on “Dear Church.”  We will be discussing chapters 7 & 8.  There are still a couple books available if you want to pick one up from church and participate. Contact Pastor Chad for the Zoom Meeting invite.

Time: Aug 12, 2020 07:00 PM

The Risk Level is: NONE.

in Christ,

Pastor Chad
