About Us

Our Mission Statement

The mission of Christ Lutheran Church is to love the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind and to love our neighbor as ourselves by reaching out to touch as many people as possible with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Who Are We

We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in a 2-state region called the Central States Synod. Our Pastor, Chad Langdon, brings to life God’s word each Sunday. He facilitates and/or participates in many of our community groups and does an excellent job lifting up our community.

Our History

Christ Lutheran Church was originally organized as the first “Package Mission” of the former American Lutheran Church. On December 3, 1950, Rev. Carl N. Busse held the first service at the University of Wichita with a total of 53 persons in attendance. Christ Lutheran has been growing ever since then, building and moving into our current home July 13, 1997. Since then, we have made it our mission to grow faith and commitment in Jesus Christ by offering meaningful and expressive worship, involvement in community and global ministry, and a strong, welcoming, and caring congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
