Falcon Fellowship Ministry
Every day during lunch, we open our doors to the students of Wichita Heights High School. Juniors & seniors have an open lunch period, meaning that they can go anywhere during that time. About 100 students per day decide to walk across the street to our church, where they receive some free snacks & goodies, talk with some of our volunteers & church members, and are greeted by our pastor. Each week the students are given an encouraging Bible verse for the week. Most other days they simply have to answer a question to get in the door – sometimes silly, sometimes deep or theological. Every student is greeted with a smile, some free food, and the love of Jesus. We seek to give them a safe, quieter place to spend their lunchtime, while gently revealing the love of Christ to them. We also work closely with the school to make sure that we doing the best we can for the kids.
On the second Wednesday of each month during the school year, we expand and give them an entire free lunch and they get to hear a gospel-centered message. Youth ministers from various churches and Campus Ministry Network support these monthly luncheons, which have been happening monthly for nearly 30 years.
